Nalukara

Nalukara is the capital of the Republic of Vaskaru, built on the main volcanic island of the Kalu Reef archipelago in the Azure Meridian. Trade winds keep the climate warm and dry; the city wraps around a sheltered lagoon with Mount Kaelu rising to 1,840 metres at its heart.

Settled in the 11th century by reef pilots who spoke early Nalukarv, the city grew as a pearl and obsidian port. Today 340,000 people live across the harbour districts, plateau suburbs, and outer cays linked by causeways and ferry routes.

Our authority

The Nalukara Island Transit Collective was chartered on 14 March 1987, merging the harbour ferries, hillside inclines, and the unfinished metro tunnel into one public body. We operate 5 lines across metro, tram, ferry, and funicular modes.

We speak plainly and on time. Every station name appears in Nalukarv and English — a standard since the Bilingual Transit Act of 1992. Our headquarters stands at 12 Exchange Square, Central Nalukara VK-101.

Accessibility

All metro and tram stations have step-free access from street to platform.
Ferry vessels on Reef Express include main-deck wheelchair positions and accessible toilets.
Pinnacle Ascent funicular cars fit one unfolded wheelchair; staff assist at Plateau Station.
Audio next-stop announcements in Nalukarv and English on all metro and tram services.
Guide dogs travel free. Tactile paving follows Vaskaru Standard VS-Transit-04 along every platform edge.

Lost property

Items found on NSLK services are logged within 24 hours and held for 14 days at the Central Exchange lost property office (open 07:00–21:00 daily). Bring valid ID and your journey time if possible. Uncollected items are donated to the Nalukara Refugee Support Network on the 15th day.
