Built for a city of crossings.
Meridian Transit Authority was founded on 17 March 1987, when Veyra’s three island councils agreed that the harbor should connect people, not divide them.
Our Veyra
Veyra is a wind-warmed island city in the imagined Pelian Sea. Its volcanic ridge gathers cloud in the morning; by afternoon the lanes of Eri Va open to a bright, salt-blue harbor. Fishing families, repair yards, hillside homes and the university all share a compact coastline.
We speak Veyran, a soft coastal language in which meri means both “crossing” and “meeting.” That is why our announcements always say the local place name first: it is the way the islands know themselves.
Accessibility
Designed for the whole crossing.
All M1 and M2 stations have lifts, tactile edges and audible arrival information. F1 piers use staffed boarding ramps. C1 cabin attendants can secure wheelchairs and mobility aids.
Before you travel
For a boarding ramp on T1 or extra time at an interchange, call Passenger Care on +88 209 555 014 at least 30 minutes ahead. We do not require advance notice, but it helps us meet you at the right door.
Guide and assistance animals are welcome throughout the network.

1987 Meridian begins with two harbor ferries and a paper transfer ticket.
1998 The first underground M1 tunnel joins Tide Gate to the market.
2011 Low-floor Rava trams return to the seafront.
2024 Cloud Step cable car opens its doors to the ridge.
