Out in the Aurel Sea, the Veyra archipelago rises from a shelf of pale limestone. The main island curves around a sheltered southern harbor, with gardens to the west, an open eastern shore and a wooded ridge to the north. Two inhabited islands sit beyond it: Luma / Lantern Isle to the northeast, and Nera / Quiet Isle to the southeast.
Our 84,600 residents share 41 square kilometres of land. Summers are warm and dry; winters arrive with soft rain and strong sea winds. Life follows the morning market, the school bell and the light on the water. Public transport has to follow all three.
The first harbor settlements grew around communal wells and a signal lantern. A new breakwater in 1884 made year-round crossings possible. The city’s streets still follow the old paths between wells, which is why a short tram ride can feel like a journey through a much older world.

A little Veyri
goes a long way.
Veyri is our island’s local language. Its short, open sounds grew from calling across the water. We put the Veyri name first and the English name beside it, on every sign, map and timetable. Either name will get you to the right place.

Visual displays and spoken announcements give the next stop in Veyri and English. Tactile paving marks platform edges; high-contrast signs point to exits and lifts.
No need to rush.
Allow four minutes to change lines, or take longer if you prefer. Our staff can hold a boarding ramp while you get settled. Ferry gates close two minutes before departure.
A companion is welcome.
One companion travels free with a rider holding a Veyra Access Card. Assistance animals travel free and do not need a carrier. Ask our travel centre about getting an Access Card.
A quieter way to travel.
Weekday travel between 10:00 and 15:00 is usually calmer. Priority seats are for anyone who needs one, including people with a non-visible condition.
