ACCESSIBILITY WORKS2–18 September 2026

A new lift for Mera / Old Town.

We’re renewing the seafront lift so it can keep doing the heavy lifting for years to come. T1 Luma / Sunline continues to call as usual.

Your step-free route

Use the signed inland ramp on Garden Lane, 180 m from the usual seafront entrance. The route is 1.8 m wide, has resting landings, and takes approximately four extra minutes. Both platforms remain accessible.

When the work happens

The seafront lift is closed from 06:00 on 2 September until 18:00 on 18 September 2026. No tram departures are cancelled. Work is limited to 08:00–17:00 to keep early and late journeys quieter.

A NOTE FROM OUR FERRY CREWS

The sea has a say.

Our eastern and western crossings normally run throughout the day. In strong winds or poor visibility, the harbourmaster may hold departures. Gate displays and station announcements carry the latest sailing decision.

If a sailing is cancelled, your ticket remains valid on the next available service. Our terminal teams can arrange a refund for an unused single ticket. Call 04 800 240 before leaving home when conditions are unsettled.
